Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council
Billings, MT – The Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council, in partnership with the Native American Development Corporation, and Blackfeet Agricultural Resource Management Plan, will be hosting a food sovereignty summit, titled Roots of a Sovereign Nation, at the Big Horn Resort and Conference Center in Billings on August 28 – August 30.
Comedian Kasey Nicholson will be the master of ceremonies, and confirmed presenters include Leslie Korn, Mariah Gladstone, Lois Red Elk, Billings Parks and Recreation, and Floating Island International.
Key topics will include food policy development, economic development, food as medicine, and buffalo restoration. Local grassroots movements and elders knowledge will be highlighted.
