Clint Eastwood won’t be talking about his empty chair routine blasting the president on the last night of the Republican National Convention, and the Obama camp appears content with doing the same. It wasn’t addressed in a campaign staff call with reporters earlier today that instead took aim at Mitt Romney’s speech. And Obama re-election spokesman Ben LaBolt brushed it off, saying he was “referring all questions to Salvador Dali.” But the team’s one-picture meme-wagon jumping response last night resonated widely online, as Twitter users were baffled and bemused by Eastwood’s rambling.
